The lovely Michelle McGrane has put up two poems from Low-Tide Lottery on her website, check them out here.
Both poems have sprung in large part from my attendance at Spoken Word in Paris. ’1789′ was going to originally be performed by Paul Davidson and I as a clin d’oeil to our respective PhDs. The performance never took place but as a result of our brainstorming the germs of a poem proliferated.
The route undertaken in ‘Belleville’ is the one you should take to go to Spoken Word, but preferably taking a sharp right into its heart before you reach Pyrénées.
